Funding Guidelines

Application and approval procedures
- Eligible to apply are natural and legal persons with their place of residence and business in the city of Remagen.
- If possible, applications should be made in writing – without any special form – to the foundation board. However, concerns can also be raised during the office hours of the community foundation or by telephone.
- The foundation board or the donor forum decides on the applications in accordance with the provisions of the foundation statutes.
- If the decision is positive, the applicant will receive a confirmation; this can be linked to requirements and conditions.
- The funding recipient confirms receipt and proper use of the funds in accordance with the application and commitment. At the request of the Foundation Board of Directors, the use must be documented with evidence.
- If the beneficiary makes false statements or fails to comply with the requirements or the terms of the letter of acceptance, the foundation is entitled not to pay out an approved grant or to reduce it and to reclaim a grant that has already been paid out.
- The foundation is entitled to inform the public in a suitable form about funding measures.
- The financial strength of the applicant must be demonstrated and taken into account.
- Own funds are to be raised within reasonable limits.
- Other financing options, such as public grants, must be exhausted.
- The amount of the grant depends on the individual case.
Funding areas and funding priorities
- The foundation develops and promotes charitable projects in the following areas, which are carried out for the benefit of the people living in the city of Remagen:
- Social (charitable purposes and welfare)
- Youth and elderly care
- Education and parenting
- Culture, art and monument preservation
- Home care and international understanding
- Protection of the environment and nature, landscape management
- Sports and health
- Promotion of voluntary and civic engagement in the aforementioned areas
- Individual cases, purposes outside of the city of Remagen can also be funded.
General exclusion criteria
- In principle, the following are excluded from funding:
- Standard funding ongoing personnel and administrative costs
- Ongoing building maintenance costs
- Current projects of other foundations
- Politically, racially motivated requests
- Rejected applications may not be renewed
